Our Mission

At Just Advocates, our mission is to restore fairness and accountability in family courts by ensuring that every parent and child has equal access to justice. We provide valuable resources to legal and other professionals involved in the family court system, including educational content and innovative compliance tools. We champion survivors of domestic abuse and individuals with disabilities, combining education, advocacy, and community support.Grounded in professional expertise and lived experience, we work to dismantle systemic barriers, promote judicial economy, and protect the fundamental rights of families navigating the legal system.

What We Do

Education
Through live and on-demand educational content, we educate legal and other professionals who provide a service to survivors of domestic abuse, particularly those involved with family court. With current, evidence-based research as the cornerstone, we equip and empower service-providers with the tools to recognize and understand the most complicated cases. Education includes a range of topics, including legislation, the Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA"), and trauma-informed service. We provide similar education to survivors.
Advocacy
We work with individuals and organizations to address systemic issues impacting the family courts and litigants. Our work prioritizes child safety, parental rights, disability rights under the ADA, and procedural fairness.

Who We Are

Just Advocates was founded by a mother, nurse, veteran, and advocate with advanced education and hands-on experience in healthcare, business start-up, organizational improvement, and the court system. With training in Six Sigma Lean and a background in disability and domestic violence advocacy, she combined personal insight with professional expertise to create a nonprofit uniquely equipped to challenge -and help remediate- systemic barriers in family court, which are costly to children, parents, the courts, and taxpayers. Our board of directors is comprised of survivors and advocates who are passionate about educating and empowering others. What began as a single initiative is growing into a community of advocates, professionals, and allies committed to reforming the court system through education, advocacy, support, and compliance.
